Smelt O'Rama

Tonight Thomas and I went to the eighth annual Smelt O’Rama. A couple of weeks ago we saw it advertised, so we thought we would check it out. Smelt are little tiny fish…back home they were primarily used for bait…I think. Anywho, a guy started up this event eight years ago. Basically he brings special nets for catching the fish. After they are caught, they are deep fried and served. It all takes place down at the pavilion by the lake. It was something else, let me tell you. We ended up arriving a bit early so we asked if we could help out in anyway, soon I was helping clean the picnic tables off and Thomas took charge of starting the fire. It was an overcast rainy night, so it sprinkled on and off, but that didn’t stop the people from coming. It was fun…but isn’t anything followed by the words “o’rama” usually a good time?
