Backing up media...

So...there was a moment earlier this week, when I had thought I had potentially lost about 45,000 + pictures and videos...the external drive that they were saved on, was not was not working...I think "panic" would have been too light of a word to describe what I was feeling. AGH!!! My kids childhood captured in photographs were gone! Cue my breakdown.

Thankfully, Thomas figured out a way to save me and the photos, yet again, sigh. And it took two days to get all the images/videos pushed up to "cloud" storage, basically, they are stored somewhere on the internet, so that now, even if my computer or the drive that he transferred them to takes a dump, they will still theoretically be safe. Whew! It is crazy how much I rely on technology...on things just working. I do take a lot of pictures and video, more than the average person, I'm sure, but they are my most prized possessions. Losing the videos would have been devastating to me. I have most of them saved on youtube.com, but now they are backed up on this other site as well.

One of my goals this year is to catch up on my photo albums. While going through some old photos, I came across Vivianne's and my trip to DisneyLand and thought I'd better make a video for her! Now both girls have one :-)
